What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care is a regulated childcare service that provides quality care for children up to 12 years of age in a safe, secure and stimulating a home environment of a family day care educator.

The maximum number of children a family day care educator may care for at any one time is six - four children under the age of five years and two school-aged children. The carers own children are included as part of this ratio.

In Family Day Care your children will learn through play and exploration while engaging within a small group of children. Your children will also be provided with opportunities to engage in a larger group of children through regular, supervised playgroup sessions.

In Family Day Care the hours of care are flexible and can be matched to the needs of your family. Types of care provided include:
